As a tertiary and quaternary centre, the RCH cares for the most critically ill and medically complex paediatric patients in Victoria. In addition to providing a full range of clinical services, the hospital also supports many health promotion and prevention programs. With more than 6,000 staff, 12 wards and 350 beds, the RCH is the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria, and also provides care for children and young people from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.

The Role: We are seeking a consultant chemical pathologist to provide supervision of medical pathology testing in the discipline of chemical pathology. Located within the Parkville precinct, Laboratory Services provides pathology services to the patients and clinicians of the RCH as well as the Royal Womens Hospital and referring practitioners. This exciting opportunity offers an opportunity to join our team with opportunities to develop collaborations across the precinct, including opportunities for research.

You will be responsible for: Provision of chemical pathology supervision, including the provision of consultative services to referring clinicians Contributing to training and development of medical and scientific staff Contributing to the development of services within the department You will have: Specialist medical registration in Australia Relevant training and experience in chemical pathology Availability to meet laboratory supervisory requirements including participation in the on-call roster Demonst.
