We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Track Maintenance Supervisor to join our Supply Chain South Team in Alpha.
In this role you will be responsible for effectively managing the allocation and deployment of resources including personnel, vehicles, equipment and inventory to deliver safe, cost effective and timely track maintenance on behalf of the Network. You will also be responsible for conducting or arranging road patrols and other track monitoring activities as required to ensure the short term safety of train operations on the corridor. Key responsibilities will include: Ensure road patrols and other tack monitoring activities are conducted Provide effective and efficient management of the workgroups resources and activities to meet defined work programmes and support the achievement of track availability and condition targets.
Conduct audits of completed work, arrange emergency response and, impose, modify, remove, review and report on speed restrictions as required Prepare and coordinate daily, weekly and monthly work programmes to ensure a high level of track availability in a cost efficient and timely manner Manage training, development, performance, succession planning and the Civil Infrastructure Competency System for staff reporting directly to the position Support the achievement of safety and environmental performance targets by actively promoting safe behaviour, implementing strategies to minimise the risk of injury or loss and ensuring compliance with policies, standards and legislative requirements. Manage allocated inventory, plant, equipment, motor vehicles, buildings, depots and camps Provide accurate, timely and up to date information and reports Assist with budget monitoring and accurate cost capture. To be considered for this role you will have: Previous rail maintenance experience will be highly desirable Substantial leadership, communication, people management and negotiation skills Sound level of skill in the management of assets and in supporting management systems, budget monitoring and cost capture / control techniques National C class drivers licence What to expect: Salary: Approximately $71k generous super scheme penalties for on call and overtime Pay increases as you develop your skills You must have the flexibility to travel and work across the district however travelling will be part of your working hours Working a 9-day fortnight (Monday to Friday one week and Monday to Thursday the following week) predominantly between 0700 to 1600 (winte....
