We aim to be the safest, best performing and most customer focused railway in Australia. We are looking an experienced Operator Maintainer to join our Resurfacing team based in our Maryborough dept.
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining track by the efficient operation and maintenance of all plant and equipment associated with a Track Resurfacing Team. About the role You will join an existing team that works a block roster of 8 days on 6 days off and you will be required to work every second weekend (this is subject to change depending on business needs). You will also need to be available to travel throughout Queensland and working away from home regularly.
In addition, you will: Operate machinery unsupervised ensuring all aspects of works are carried out in an efficient and safe manner in accordance with all relevant manuals and track standards Operate machines to ensure total compliance to Queensland Rails policies / rules and safe working procedures independently or as a team Carry out regular servicing, minor and preventative maintenance on all on-track and auxiliary plant to the technical level of competence attained to ensure maximum equipment availability Liaise with the Resurfacing Supervisor constantly regarding output to maintain flexibility and updating program requirements Assist tradesperson in mechanical / electrical repairs / maintenance of on-track plant as required Undertake administrative and recording duties to ensure correct information is forwarded to applicable administration destinations on time About you Previous experience operating and servicing on-track and auxiliary plant, particularly ballast regulators and resurfacing tempers, in a rail environment is desired. Current drivers licence, MR licence is desirable Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to safety This is a permanent full time opportunity with a base salary of approximately $48,982 $3,000 (all-purpose allowance) generous super penalties for overtime and weekend work. What to expect You must be willing to work away from home however travelling for field work will be part of your working hours.
