Youth Justice Custodial Services aim to engage young people in change by addressing their offending behaviour and equipping them with the skills required for positive community participation, within a safe and secure environment. The Infrastructure and Security Unit manages and provides oversight on all major infrastructure projects, maintenance and security requirements (i.
e. Dynamic and Static security) within the facilities. About the role The Maintenance Officer is required to maintain buildings to a high standard, including carpentry repairs, glazing and manufacturing a range of fittings.
This role is responsible for carrying out building inspections, problem resolution and cost estimation for general building and construction works within commercial parameters. This role will work as part of a broader team, to ensure all works comply with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other regulation and standards. To be successful in this role you will have: Completed an approved trades apprenticeship issued by the Industrial Training Commission of Victoria, or equivalent Excellent self-management skills including the ability to plan and prioritise your work while maintaining accurate records of your work activities according to legislative requirements, as well as that of the department An ability to maintain effective relationships with various stakeholders, including internal staff and senior stakeholders, as well as tradespeople and suppliers a full and current driver's licence You will be required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) to be maintained by the employee for the period of employment.
