Your Opportunity A new position has become available at Mission Australia to join our fun and dynamic team in Northbridge as a Team Leader. You will be supporting the Program Manager with the day-to-day operations of the YouthBeat service and leading a team of case managers and outreach workers.
YouthBeat provides outreach case management and support for young people across the Perth Metro area experiencing risk factors impacting their lives. YouthBeat also works collaboratively with the WA Police, Department of Communities Crisis Care Unit and the Nyoongar Outreach Services to operate the Youth at Risk Strategy (YARS). YARS operates on Friday and Saturday nights to support young people under the age of 17yrs in the CBD and Northbridge area by providing a safe youth-friendly place for them to wait while arranging their return to appropriate accommodation.
All young people engaged through YARS are also offered the opportunity to engage in YouthBeat case management and support. This role will attract a passionate senior youth worker with sector experience in outreach and a strong track record in leading small teams or are ready to make that next step in their career. Your key responsibilities will be to: Respond to referrals and coordinate new case intake and allocations within the team Maintain a caseload of young people accessing the service and provide ongoing person-centred and solution-focused case management Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective operation in the community Lead and provide supervision of a small and diverse team of approximately ten staff Coordinate and maintain a roster for service operations Requirements for Success To be successful in this role, you will need to possess: A relevant university degree with relevant experience Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable young people Demonstrated experience leading teams and people management The ability to maintain and develop effective relationships with stakeholders Provide on-call support monthly for one week; with occasional shift cove....
