AO6 Senior Communications Advisor

Location Queensland, Gold Coast


As the Senior Communications Advisor, you will lead and coordinate internal & external communication services for a large scale project on community engagement, public affairs, correspondence, media relations, issues management and stakeholder relationship management. This professional will represent interests of the department and provide high level media, communication and strategic advice. Client Details This project team is currently focused on a world class public transport system; overseeing the day-to-day operations and executing directions from the supervisory board.

The team is comprised of a range of occupations and led by a Project Director and management team. Description Lead the implementation of community engagement, relations and correspondence programs supporting the delivery of communication and stakeholder management Provide strategic advice and expertise to management and communication teams on communication strategies, risk assessment and issue management Execute correspondence on improving relationships with key stakeholders in the community Liaise with project team and staff to identify issues and develop proactive measures for management Review and comment on communication & media material, consultation plans and stakeholder engagement plans Develop and manage key relationships with internal/external stakeholders to facilitate cooperation, coordination and enhanced communication channels Maintain records of community and stakeholder interactions and communications to track project issues and identify opportunities for improvement Review and monitor compliance with all communications, media and stakeholder contractual requirements under project documents and provide relevant advice to the director Lead and implement business engagement plan in collaboration with the City of Gold Coast during construction to ensure consistent and coordinated approach Profile Minimum 3 years experience as a Senior Communications Advisor Internal and external communications experience within the infrastructure industry Experience developing and implementing strategic communication plans Demonstrated career experiences and success in project based work Ability to demonstrate prior success with strategic community engagement, issue management and risk assessments Sound understanding of identifying trends and risks in communication issues that may affect project outcomes Experience leading and implementing project business engagement plans Job Offer Be part of a project team working on a system that will underpin a world class public transport system Number of stages throughout the project responding the urban growth within the Gold Coast region 3 year contract with 2 x 3 month possible extensions on offer Competitive hourly rate: $62.89 - $67.
