7 hours per week) continuing appointment. We are seeking a Psychologist to join our team to support our provisional psychologist Masters students in their professional placements. The focus of the position is on external clinical psychology placements and is located at the VU Psychology Clinic, Metro West, Footscray About the Role The Clinical Placements Officer is located in the professional psychology team and plays a pivotal role managing the organisation of placement activities for students in the Clinical Psychology program.
Establishing and maintaining relationships with external organisations, facilitating the placement of students into clinical settings and ensuring accountability and compliance with University policies and procedures, and AHPRA requirements, are key features of this role. The position also contributes to the functioning of the VU Psychology clinic and may provide clinical supervision of students undertaking placements. About the Person You will be a Registered Psychologist and while not essential clinical endorsement and experience in clinical supervision would be preferred.
You will be recognised for your outstanding interpersonal skills and with a passion for engaging with students from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. in a collaborative and supportive team, you will contribute to the success of the clinical learning environment experience of our Psychology trainees. Duties include: Monitoring, assessing and reporting student placement progress, both in the VU Psychology Clinic and external placement settings.
Informing students of external placement opportunities and discussing their applications with them. Building and maintaining relationships with external placement agencies. Addressing student placement-related performance difficulties that may arise.
Working with other placement and clinic staff to advance the work of the College in the area of professional placements.
