About your opportunityThe Staff Specialist works with the paediatric team providing leadership in the development of our multidisciplinary Community Paediatric Services including the intake and assessment of patients, and collaborating with other Townsville Hospital and Health Services including external teams and services. The Staff Specialist will; Support and develop integrated pathways for children in the community who require paediatric care.
Provide clinics and leadership in developmental and behavioural paediatrics with a focus on the care of children in our community paediatric clinics. Lead training in community paediatrics for Paediatric Trainees, and support RACP accreditation. Conduct clinics in Community Paediatrics, General Paediatrics and participate in outreach.
Supervise RACP paediatric trainees and participate in junior doctor supervision and training. Evaluate, research and develop the service. Role requirements: Qualified as a medical practitioner with qualifications in speciality areas current registration and/or eligible for registration as a paediatric specialist with the Medical Board of Australia.
Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians with General Paediatrics. 'C' class motor vehicle licence. Remuneration package of up to $282,661 p.

16 p.h. (L18-L27), recreational leave loading (17.
5%), employer contribution to superannuation (12.75%), attraction and retention incentive allowance, regional and rural attraction allowance, motor vehicle allowance, professional development assistance (allowances and leave), and inaccessibility allowance (if applicable). Level of appointment is dependent upon experience and advanced qualifications.
