The Defence Security and Vetting Service ensures Defence is able to do that by providing protective security advice and services across the defence enterprise from training establishments and bases through to Defence industry operations across the country and world. The Security Intelligence and Threats Directorate support the mission of Defence by providing Security Intelligence products and services in support of securing the wide range of defence activities. Our work ranges from providing strategic threat assessments which inform defences security posture across the country through to tactical analysis of emergent threats in real time.
Our work covers threat actors including espionage, terrorism and crime and threat vectors including Human Intelligence and Cyber Exploitation. Our work involves understanding our capabilities, our vulnerabilities, our adversaries and our environment and we achieve this through research, analysis and partnership with the wider Australian Intelligence Community. About our Team The Security Intelligence and Threat Directorate consists of 4 teams, - Counterintelligence - Threat Assessment - Capability Intelligence - Technical Surveillance Countermeasures Our teams are multidisciplinary in nature and are comprised of APS and ADF members of varying levels and ranks.
This recruitment process will look to fill APS vacancies in all areas of the directorate with the exception of the Technical Surveillance Countermeasures team. Our Ideal Candidate For the APS 5 Positions At the APS 5 level we are looking for potential. Do you have an understanding of security, intelligence or international relations as a result of studies or a technical foundation in intelligence or analysis from work in a law enforcement, security or immigration role.

For the APS 6 Positions At the APS 6 level we are looking for technical proficiency.
Have you worked in an intelligence analysis function at a state, federal or international level or similar? Have you written analytical products or delivered intelligence briefings? Have you reviewed analytical products and provided feedback to peers and junior staff?
