Senior Executive Band 1
We are seeking senior executive Band 1s (Program Managers) who can help lead the ABS into the future in our economic statistics areas. The Statistical Services Group comprises the Industry Statistics, Macroeconomic Statistics, Social Statistics, and Labour Market & Population Statistics Divisions. The roles we are filling are in the economic branches of the Industry Statistics and Macroeconomic Statistics Divisions.
NOTE: ABS employees who have access to market sensitive information are not allowed to trade in market trading activities until the information has been published. These periods are identified as trading 'black-out' periods. The key duties of the position include As a Program Manager you will provide overall leadership of your Branch, including: • delivering a range of work program priorities in support of achieving ABS' strategic directions and responsibility for producing high quality statistical and/or data outputs • developing and leading a future strategy for your area • nurturing internal and external stakeholder relationships and engagement • actively managing risks • leading multiple teams, managing talent and building capability; and • managing a budget, along with improving the efficiency and effectiveness of your Branch.
As a member of the ABS Senior Executive Service and Leadership team, you will contribute towards ABS strategic priorities and the management of ABS by: • actively demonstrating and promoting our cultural behaviours (collaborative, responsive, collegiate, respectful, innovative, adaptable, resilient) • supporting empowerment, simplified and streamlined governance that enables transparent and responsive decision making and flexible resource allocation • contributing to and promoting ABS-wide initiatives beyond your specific Branch work program e.g. diversity, ongoing innovation; and • providing frank and fearless advice and views as part of the leadership team e.
g. in relevant Governance and senior leadership committees.
