Assistant Director Operational Technology Training
Overview of the Branch and Section: Enforcement Technologies and Logistics Section (ET&L) provides sustainment support for enforcement technologies used by the Australian Border Force (ABF), including maintenance and technical training. These technologies enable the detection and presumptive identification of prohibited and restricted goods and include x-ray, trace detection, substance identification and radio-logical technologies. The section also manages the outsourced provision of sea cargo logistics at ABF Container Examination Facilities and provides a radiation safety management function for facilities, and equipment in support of ABF operations.

If this sounds like you, Enforcement Technologies & Logistics is seeking a high performing candidate that reports to the Director ET&L to lead a team of essential technical subject matter experts in detection and identification technologies and the training frameworks supporting the deployed technologies within the ABF. The primary role is to manage the Operational Technology Training (OTT) team and be responsible for managing detection and identification technology training programs nationally through a train-the-trainer delivery model. This includes being responsible for developing technology-related operational policies and procedures, providing technical support to technology acquisition or enhancement projects and providing technical advice on detection and identification technologies to a wide range of stakeholders.
