About the Opportunity Due to our continual growth here in Australia and abroad, we’re looking for a passionate Legal Counsel to join the team in Sydney. Reporting to the Head of Legal ANZ, you’ll provide legal support to a variety of teams across the ANZ business including Sales, Marketing, Product, Technology, Privacy, Customer Service, Compliance and Risk. This role will suit a commercial lawyer who thrives in a dynamic environment.
Previous in-house experience in the financial, retail or technology sectors will be highly regarded. Your responsibilities will include: - Providing a broad range of strategic legal advice, including: negotiating and advising on merchant and third-party contracts, advising on the rollout of new customer and merchant product features, and reviewing and advising on customer facing communications - Working collaboratively with a range of internal and external stakeholders to support Afterpay’s growth while managing risk and compliance - Implementing process improvements that assist the Legal team and other stakeholders - Managing external legal advisers - Reporting key legal metrics for the AU & NZ business - Delivering training across the business as required About You - 2 years PQE and a valid practising certificate in Australia - Commercial contract drafting and negotiating skills - Comfortable working independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment - Excellent communication skills - Comfortable working on matters which you may have limited or no expertise in - Enjoy working in a consultative fashion with other business units Sign me Up Interested?
