EL1 Legal Officer
Our client a large Federal Government department is seeking an experienced EL1 Legal Officer with Regulatory experience. This role will initially be for 7 month contract through until February 2021 with the potential for extension. About You: Be a self-starter - able to understand what is required and set out a path for achieving the desired outcomes.
Demonstrate and act with sound judgement under pressure and in time constrained situations. Experienced EL1 Demonstrated regulation and operational experience Experienced with stakeholders, briefing and writing ministerial briefings About the role: review, refresh and create documentation to support regulator staff to undertake regulatory decision making manage engagement with stakeholder and work with regulated parties to ensure compliance with scheme obligations Manage and mentor junior staff Draft and clear ministerial correspondence, and briefings for senior agency executive and ministers' offices. Eliciting and document business risks, and use this to prioritise deliverables within the section.
Clarify and define business needs, and documenting of these in business processes and standard operating procedures. Provide support and training to staff to support the implementation of the new processes. Engage with stakeholders from a diverse background.
The ability to provide expertise and technical knowledge in an area related to Regulatory practice, and/or management of e-waste is desirable. Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to identify opportunities, achieve outcomes and facilitate cooperation. Develop and interpret policy in a specialised area of work that requires detailed understanding and consideration of sensitive organisational and political issues.
