The Position : An exciting new opportunity now exists for a Gas Regulatory Compliance Auditor to join the Gas Pipeline's and Infrastructure Safety team, based either at their Melbourne SE or CBD office on a permanent basis.
Reporting to the Team Leader - Audit and Compliance team, you will responsible for conducting management system audits across the gas, transmission, distribution, pipeline and retailer industry groups in accordance with the Annual Gas and Pipeline Infrastructure Safety (GPIS) audit plan. What will your day to day look like? The Gas and Pipelines Safety and Technical Regulation Division has a responsibility for ensuring: Lead the implementation and delivery of the annual audit plan, ensuring the achievement of regulatory compliance objectives in a timely, efficient and value-adding manner. Lead and/or participate in system assurance audits, technical construction and operational audits.
Prepare formal reports of audit findings and provide feedback to industry in a timely manner Ensures non-compliances are closed out and addressed to meet regulatory and legislative requirements Deliver specialist regulatory tasks and advice, including the conduct of investigative audit tasks, preparation of advice to government and relevant stakeholders, and contribute towards the improvement of regulatory compliance and/or audit practice. Provide expert advice to management, and stakeholders regarding breaches of technical compliance as specified by relevant Australian and International Standards, industry codes and best practice. Participate in relevant committees and/or working groups with respect to audit and compliance Making sure that the public are protected from environmental, health and safety risks resulting from the construction and operation of licensed pipelines Assuring the safety of the conveyance, sale, supply, measurement, control and use of gas Assuring that existing and new gas installations are safe and compliant That all new and second hand gas appliances meet agreed safety criteria and comply with appropriate standards Making s....
