The Director of Home Ownership leads and manages the operations of the mortgage lending programme, which assists Indigenous Australians to participate in home ownership. Description The Director, Home Ownership leads and manages the operations of the home lending programme, which assists Indigenous Australians to participate in home ownership. You will be responsible for ensuring the programme and its lending policies, products and procedures appropriately reflect the legislative intent of the programme, the broader regulatory environment, best practice, and that IBA policy directions are responsive to Indigenous client needs and are being delivered effectively and efficiently. The Director leads a team of over 70 staff across 14 offices with responsibility for originating, underwriting and management of a mortgage portfolio of over $1bn.
Ensure the programme's policy, lending products and procedures are relevant in the context of the current market Ongoing management of borrowers from first home buyers to refinance in the commercial banking sector, thereby recycling capital for future Indigenous borrowers. Manage the implementation of new policy developments and other initiatives that relate to Indigenous home ownership. Promote the effective and efficient operation and delivery of the programme Provide specialist lending and associated technical support to the Chief Executive Officer and ED, Products & Markets on all issues relating to the programme and the branch.
Reporting on the performance of the portfolio. Represent IBA at high level meetings and working groups and maintain effective relationships at senior levels with other Government Departments, stakeholders and external parties. Contribute to the strategic leadership and good governance of IBA.
Profile It will be essential to have experience of working in the Australian banking sector within a home-lending and mortgages business and you should have a strong strategic understanding of the Australian housing system.
