IPA is looking for an Environmental Advisor for an immediate start with our client for their mine located in Central Queensland. The successful applicant can be based from Rockhampton or Townsville. A great relocation package is on offer for anyone currently based out of these areas.

The role on offer is working full time hours, 10-12 hours / day on an 8/6 Roster. Work life balance is important to our client so with travel time to and from site included within your work roster, you will get the full 6 days at home. Meals and accommodation are supplied while you are on shift.

With comfortable camp facilities including a gym. An attractive and competitive salary package is on offer, which will be discussed upon application. The Role As an Environmental Advisor with this business you will be responsible for the implementation and enforcement of environmental management standards for mine construction, including transitioning into mine operations.

Working to minimise or eliminate negative impacts of mine construction and operational mining activities on the environment. Key Responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to: Ensure that environmental compliance is maintained on site by assisting with developing, implementing and maintaining environmental management systems, plans and procedures. Environmental monitoring and reporting requirements.

Prepare Annual Environmental Returns and assist with ongoing project approvals. Management of contractors and consultants and ensuring conformance with company HSEC Standards. Ensure that plans are in place and implemented in a timely fashion.

Assist in incident investigations as required. Ongoing understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation and company standards. Requirements Tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering or equivalent Demonstrated environmental experience within the coal mining industry On site working experience Extensive knowledge of environmental statutory requirements in relation to project planning and delivery is essential.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience working with water management, erosion sediment control, mine site rehabilitation, land or natural resource management programs and GIS (Arcview) would be highly regarded. Experience in working with ISO14001 and in environmental management techniques, systems and tools including monitoring, inspections, auditing is highly desirable.
