Perigon Group are proud to be partnering with Stewart Investors in their Sustainable Funds Group, part of the wider First Sentier Global Asset Manager. This is a rare opportunity for an Investment Analyst to join this prestigious and respected Global business in a newly created role and work alongside industry leaders.
Stewart Investors is responsible for various Global, Emerging Markets and Asia Pacific strategies. The team consists of investment professionals based in Edinburgh, London, Singapore and Sydney. Stewart Investors is a long-term investor with an absolute-return mindset.
The Role As an Investment Analyst in the Sustainable Funds Group you will be part of a team that are expected to research companies, sectors and economies, thereby generating the investment ideas essential to maintaining and improving portfolio performance. Interviewing business owners and managers as well as other senior public figures throughout the world, including travelling to relevant markets, is key to the investment process. You will undertake regular company meetings and occasional visits, and then produce timely research material to substantiate investment views.
You will also conduct investigations into possible company purchases along with thematic research with a focus on sustainable investment themes. A core responsibility will be to engage companies on key environmental, social and governance issues, while maintaining and improving the depth of Sustainable Funds Group coverage. It is expected you will contribute to help strengthen the investment philosophy and culture of the team, and by observing the team’s objectives and investment philosophy you will also ensure strong communication of ideas and assist with ad hoc tasks that help meet team objectives.
About You Ideally you will have two years’ experience working in a similar role and or come from professional services with a strong understanding of financial markets. It is essential that you are naturally numeric with the ability to interpret qualitative and statistical information, while also being an exceptional communicator both with written and verbal and be comfortable with complex data and spreadsheets. You will have a relevant tertiary qualification and be looking to complete or partially completed an industry post-graduate qualification for investment professionals such as a CFA.
Your aptitude to assess and interpret the quality of companies and complex financial information will help you to secure this role. You will have a passion and demonstrated interest in sustainable investing and a deep interest in societies, companies and equity markets. This combined with you strong sense of integrity, responsibility and curious nature will help you secure this role.
