Senior Registrar Obstetrics and Gynaecology



Position: Senior Registrar O and G Registrar Advanced (FRANZCOG Training Program Year 6) This large University Hospital is excited to offer a Senior Obs and Gynae Registrar position for 2020. This is a busy tertiary unit with over 5000 obstetric deliveries annually. Training allows exposure to general obstetrics and gynaecology, advanced laparoscopy and subspecialties including gynaecology oncology, urogynaecology and maternal fetal medicine.

General gynaecology advanced training module - consolidated gynaecology exposure including both urogynaecology and advanced laparoscopic General obstetrics advanced training - tertiary obstetrics exposure Colposcopy and office hysteroscopy Location: Queensland's most famous beach resort, bringing together nostalgia and innovation, a vibrant nightlife with family-friendly experiences, and the best of both beaches and the hinterland. A location renowned for its relaxed beach lifestyle, it is a surf haven, with breaks for everyone from Quiksilver Pro champs to absolute beginners (plus plenty of surf schools), as well as both family-friendly and pet-friendly beaches. The Hospital: More than 1100 beds across three hospitals, acute and sub-acute care in hospital and community settings, one of Queensland's largest clinical teaching and research facilities The successful candidate will: provide clinical care under supervision and acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to satisfy relevant specialist college and medical board requirements in order to practice as a specialist Provide inpatient and outpatient care by; Assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigations; Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant; Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care (inpatients only); Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patient and carers and seek consent; Gather input from appropriate multidisciplinary team for patients ongoing clinical care; Continually monitor and review patient progress and adjust the management plan when necessary; and Ensure appropriate and timely communication to the General Practitioner, other health care providers and carers to ensure ongoing patient care post hospital stay.

Attend tutorials, participate and present at grand rounds, attend compulsory courses, and participate in on-the-job training in order to meet college requirements and develop clinical knowledge and skills.
