Position Summary: Reporting to the Senior Accountant, The Assistant Accountant will be a key member of the Finance team, ensure the accuracy, reliability, timeliness, efficiency and integrity of A2B Australia’s Financial Planning and Accounting with focus on the A2B Technology and Payments businesses which include Cabcharge Payments, Mobile Technology International (MTI) and EFT Solutions (EFT).
In addition, this role will contribute to the design, improvement and implementation of internal controls and processes. Responsibilities: Develops, document, maintain and drive appropriate internal controls for the Cabcharge and MTI businesses Preparation of accurate and supported month end journals Prepare and complete monthly bank and balance sheet reconciliations for key GL accounts Assists with improving the month end process Prepares accurate monthly and ad-hoc invoices Timely & accurate preparation & support for the external audit process Continually seek new methods and procedures to streamline, automate and simplify daily activities and month-end close and reporting process ensuring data accuracy, efficiency and integrity Provides timely, accurate and insightful reporting and analysis. Drives the identification and improvement of issues and opportunities.
Ensures compliance with A2Baccounting policies and procedures and with Australian accounting standards Preparation of BAS returns & Accurate delivery data to ABS & industry bodies Assist with internal stakeholder queries in a timely manner Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecast. Including the preparation of the Capex budget, forecast and actual spend is tracked on a monthly basis. Preparation of accurate monthly management reporting Qualifications: Graduation in Finance, Accounting, Commerce or a related discipline with minimum 6 months working experience in a similar role , with plans to take on further studies such as CPA/CA Analytically strong with good attention for detail Ability to work effectively under tight time frames Excellent communication and problem-solving skills Strong Excel skills Special conditions The successful applicant must be a non-smoker.
