Senior Mechanical Estimator
Tier 1 civil/utilities contractor Adelaide Based - Wayville Water/ Waste Water Treatment & Distribution ABOUT US For 85 years, Fulton Hogan has established itself as a leading civil, utilities and infrastructure contracting business which operates throughout Australia, NZ and the Pacific Islands. THE POSITION We wish to complement our existing Utilities team with an experienced Senior Mechanical Estimator for our growing programme of capital works with SA Water.
You will take an active role in the pricing of projects through the analysis of plans, specifications, proposals and other data in preparing time, cost, plant, materials and labour first principles estimates for our waste water treatment program and other water infrastructure projects: Use of first principles to develop accurate estimates for Utility based projects (predominantly Water and Waste Water Treatment and Networks related) Conduct research to obtain data on labour costs, materials, production times etc. Obtain and review offers and quotes by subcontractors or vendors Build relationships with key stakeholders (subcontractors, suppliers, engineers etc.) Liaise with clients and suppliers to obtain information and calculate costs Mentor / train junior estimating staff Lead estimates - set up templates, develop procurement schedules and present first principles methodology at reviews.
Participate in clarification discussions and client meetings Actively participate in Risk & Opportunity and contract reviews Provide input to construction methodologies and tender programs This position will be based at our Adelaide office on the city fringe (Wayville). YOU WILL NEED To be successful in this role, you must be able to demonstrate the following: Proven experience, and track record as a Mechanical or M&E Estimator (min 5 years as a Lead Estimator) Experience in pricing large and small projects – ideally involving Utility Infrastructure Familiarity with financial and project management principles Good communication and presentation skills Possess a positive and productive attitude Experience in Water / Waste Water or Utility infrastructure You will have a tertiary qualification in Engineering (or similar), be a strong communicator with significant experience in the sector.
