Join the largest hospital and teaching centre in the Hobart medical community Attractive salary including salary packaging - $125,000 - $130,000 Permanent roles available - relocation packages available for people interstate The Cytogenetics Laboratory at the Royal Hobart Hospital is seeking a suitably qualified junior and senior scientist for the role of Medical Scientist in Charge of Cytogenetics. About the Area Hobart is currently the fastest growing city in Australia and is one of the most affordable cities to live in. About the Facility and Unit 550 bed facility providing services across Cardiac, Neuro, burn, Paediatrics, Neonatal, and high risk OB and ED Modern centre that is recently undergone major renovations The laboratory covers both constitutional and cancer cytogenetics and has recently attained NATA accreditation for both pregnancy loss and haematological microarray testing. The laboratory also performs tissue FISH on a range of oncology referrals A very switched on collaborative Management Team overseeing the department What's on Offer Pay in accordance to level of experience - very competitive on a national scale Relocation assistance will be provided for a scientist travelling from interstate ($3000 depending on location) Employees have access to ongoing education training days, generous annual leave, sick leave, and long service leave Full time hours - 38 hours a week - permanent work A full orientation program is provided for all new staff to get you familiar with systems and processes Schedule of hours will be discussed in interview - based on circumstance About You You are comfortable working in a team environment and able to work autonomously, and the ability to be adaptive 6 years' experience in cytogenetics with a fellowship (FHGSA or FFSc) - training time will be counted towards this OR holds overseas experience and in the process or already assessed for HGSA A PHD, MHGSA (Cytogenetics) or FFSc-approved by the AIMS or equivalent Fellow of the Human Genetics Society of Australasia in Cytogenetics or equivalent Hold laboratory management experience Even Better if you Have a post grad in Cytogenetics or a relevant field Already have membership with the AIMS Available to start in the next 2-4 months To submit your interest or to find out more about this investment in your career, please contact Ira Joseph, Specialist Recruitment Consultant in Health Services on (03) 6270 2620 or email ijosephsearsonbuck.com.
