Based on the Central Coast we pride ourselves on quality, innovation and creating a positive working The Role: The maintenance fitter is responsible for fault finding and proactively repairing machinery as well as preventative maintenance and continuous Improvement initiatives that enable the production team to produce high quality products.
Responsibilities: Maintain safe, healthy and risk-free work environment Internal safety, housekeeping and environmental audits conducted as appropriate Unsafe, unhealthy and environmental damaging conditions identified and eliminated Ensure risk assessments are undertaken at all critical project stages Incident investigations are conducted regarding legislative requirements and company procedures and feedback is given to contractors on safety performance Safe work is always promoted Safe work method statements and appropriate signage are documented and deployed The use of relevant personal protective equipment is enforced per legislative requirements Where necessary specific safety training is conducted and documented Production Support Respond to work requests from production Assist production on breakdowns when appropriate. Adhere to production processes when applicable Advise the production team on technical matters when requested Continuous Improvement Support production in continuous improvement projects Identify and action continuous improvement opportunities Professional Development Attend training events in key areas to maximise technical performance Improve efficiency through professional mentoring Applicants will have the following qualities: Fitter qualifications Have experience in machine troubleshooting/problem-solving and fault finding Have experience in preventative maintenance Be able to demonstrate experience in the maintenance of pneumatic and hydraulic equipment Thorough all-round engineering knowledge Computer literate Analytical and problem-solving skills High level of numeracy and literacy Understanding good GMP Good interpersonal communication skills (both internally at all levels, and externally with customers and suppliers) Strong achievement drive and ability to meet or exceed performance standards Applicants that also have the following will be highly regarded: TIG / MIG welding experience Confined space ticket Electrical disconnect / reconnect licence Understanding of Lean and 5S manufacturing process Experience in a high speed packaging manufacturing environment Innovation Continuous improvement expertise Forklift Licence Work at Heights ticket We look forward to receiving applications that meet the above criteria..
