Applications The College requires an experienced Learning Support teacher to work in our Learning Enrichment faculty, with qualifications in Special Education or TESOL equivalent. We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher with a passion and commitment to working with students with diverse needs. The successful candidate will possess a positive and flexible attitude who demonstrates a willingness to learn and take initiative.
It is expected that applicants will have: experience working as a learning support teacher in senior school or upper primary experience working with students in class and withdrawal settings experience working with students with diverse needs including working with students from non-English speaking backgrounds experience in literacy support and an understanding of the continuum of literacy skills from foundational skills to Stage 6. excellent communication and interpersonal skills to ensure positive relationships with teachers and parents experience in supporting classroom teachers particularly Stage 4 - 6 English and stage 6 EAL/D an understanding of the RTI support framework experience in developing and maintaining IEPs experience with assessing individual needs including the ability to perform relevant diagnostic tests such as the YARC an understanding of the NCCD and the appropriate record-keeping involved You will be required to support the Christian ethos of the College.
