The Seventh-day Adventist Church (Tasmania) Ltd requires a full time Accountant to assist in the financial department of the Company. Applicants must have: Qualifications in accounting and finance. Knowledge of the Chris 21 system of payroll and accounting procedures Membership with CPA The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating the provision of accounting services for our three companies, preparing payroll for approximately 100 persons with a high degree of accuracy.
Support the CFO in preparation of accounting services, preparation of financial reports and statements, prepare, implement and monitor financial and administrative policies and practices. You will contribute to providing forecasting, cash flow management, data analysis, extrapolation, modelling, and the conversion of strategic initiatives to positive financial outcomes. Budget preparation and implementation and reporting are also part of the role.
Requirements: Degree with at least two years of experience (post-grad) CA qualified (highly desirable) Experience with Seventh-day Adventist Accountancy systems High level of computer literacy with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, Sun Systems Accounting Software and Chris 21 Payroll system Be able to answer payroll queries Sound working knowledge of modern Industry Awards and the Fair Work Act. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail Demonstrate a sound knowledge of commercial accounting practices and principles and of Australian Accounting Standards Be a practicing, baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to its mission Have the capacity to develop a working knowledge of denominational policies Hold a current and valid Working with Vulnerable People card Have a current Tasmanian drivers licence.
