National Sales Manager



Our client is a highly ethical and professional specialist vegetable seeds company. They supply commercial growers with a broad range of vegetable varieties and technical advice. Horticultural market leaders with an exceptional reputation, they have grown consistently over the years by supplying varieties from leading international breeding companies.

Their high-quality genetics provide Australian growers with produce of exceptional quality trialed under local conditions, so they reliably perform. They operate in a global market and are a fully owned subsidiary of a larger Australian agribusiness however operate as a completely independent entity. Continued growth within the business has created the need for an experienced National Sales Manager professional to join their team.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the National Sales Manager will incorporate business management and business development responsibilities while proactively leading the Territory Managers across Australia. A very-hands on sales leadership role, you will play a key role in the Australian sales function while overseeing the management and introduction of new products to the market. You will also be heavily involved with budgeting, forecasting and supplier relationships while at all times maintaining a focus on driving sales results through proactive and customer-centric relationships.

Incorporated in the role will be attending international conferences and organising local/regional conferences, working with the MD on market development, managing key client accounts and stakeholders, actively visiting and spending time with key growers, and maintaining an acute intel on sales and trends in all state markets. To be successful in this role you will: have a proven sales leadership record of growing revenues and gross profit in agricultural/horticultural markets be an exceptional leader to work with salespeople to maximise client relationships and therefore sales results ideally, have knowledge of the seeds market in Australia or internationally. You may also come from chemical, fertiliser, or broader horticultural background be able to keep abreast of market trends, key client strategy, and competitor activity be willing to travel as needed in Australia and Overseas (conferences, suppliers and client visits) have a history of selling a technical product that requires in-depth client engagement and management You will no doubt have exceptional communication and presentation skills and the ability to work with a wide range of cultural groups This role represents an excellent opportunity to work with a market leader who offers tailored and ethical service delivery to its clients.
