Direct Care Attendant - Residential
Yorke and Northern Local Health Network, Hammill House Residential Care Home, Port Pirie Salary: $1,041.60 - $1,053.30 per week (pro rata) - Ongoing P/T - WHA4 Working under limited supervision, you will assist in the care and supervision of aged care clients of the Hammill House Residential Care Home in Port Pirie.
This will include providing assistance with bathing, showering, personal hygiene, dressing and grooming of residents, along with toileting and continence management. You will help with feeding residents and maintain their mobility/dexterity through transferring and lifting, including the use of mechanical aides. You will also undertake bed making, cleaning of equipment, aids, utensils in work area (including personal possessions), and distribute clean laundry and personal attire.
Providing input into resident assessment and recording general observations, you will help to identify diversional therapy needs of individuals and/or groups and complete routine documentation in accordance with established policies and procedures. 6 million redeveloped Hammill House aged care facility was completely refurbished with multi-bed wards now converted to single and double rooms with ensuites. You will have completed the AQF Certificate III relevant to the position and have experience in dealing with aged, frail or disabled persons. Demonstrating the ability to perform under limited direction, you will work well within a team environment and be able to communicate effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Along with a commitment to maintaining resident confidentiality, you will display empathy towards the elderly and be willing to develop a positive rapport with residents and their families. These are part time vacancies, hours to be negotiated and salary will be adjusted according to actual hours worked. More than one part time position available.
