Northcott Therapy provides support to children, young people and adults with a range of disabilities including intellectual disability, physical disability, autism and global developmental delay. About the role Be committed to using a person-centred approach to deliver evidence based therapy to children, young people and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder, intellectual and/or physical disability and other complex support needs Work with customers and families to identify strengths, skills and goals.
Use appropriate assessment tools and methods to assess strengths and areas of development, in order to identify suitable intervention strategies Always work on "best practice" solutions for our customers Provide centre and community based therapies Proactively contribute to the ongoing development of professional knowledge and skills in Occupational Therapy Positively contribute to quality and business improvement This is a Permanent part time position preferably working Monday, Tuesday and Fridays (negotiable) About You Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy or equivalent Current AHPRA registration Demonstrated experience delivering evidence based therapy to children, young people and adults with intellectual disabilitiy sensory processing and/or emotional regulation needs Experience in the prescription of equipment, home modifications, functional assessments and supporting people with physical disability would be highly desirable Excellent communication skills – written, oral and listening Ability and commitment to work with a customer-centred approach Ability to work autonomously in a complex environment with multiple demands and tight timelines Demonstrated ability to manage a caseload and administrative responsibilities in an efficient and effective manner Understanding of the NDIS and experience working in a fee for service model Computer literate and familiar with using customer record systems Current First Aid Certificate (including CPR) or willing to obtain Police Check, less than 6 months old Current NSW Working With Children Check (WWCC) or willing to obtain Must have a valid driver's licence and willingness to travel as required Northcott Culture and Benefits A friendly, supportive and collaborative team Career Development Opportunities Learning and development opportunities Salary packaging up to $15,900 available Multiple employee benefits, such as discounted gym & health fund membership, discounted motor vehicle services For a confidential discussion regarding this role please contact Danielle Coogan on 0400 558 367 Applications for this position close 25/06/2020 Northcott is an EEO employer and welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and abilities.
