The merchandise team sits within all Business Units (Grocery, Non-Food, Fresh Produce, Bakery and Meat/Deli/Seafood/Meals) across Coles Supermarkets.

This is a diverse team, from category management and supply chain, to product development and marketing. Merchandise is a dynamic, high profile area and is committed to identifying and delivering what’s best for Coles and our customers, today and into the future. The role Reporting into the Head of Pricing and Value you will shape the value calendar to reset and implement the value strategy, driving trade and improving customer value perception.

Identify opportunities for value investment in long term strategic pricing through the Down Down and Every Day low price proposition. Deliver products with strong seasonal relevant and aligned the Customer Calendar through compelling solutions. Utilising your project management skills you will support category planning process and help develop impactful category plans This position would suit a highly analytical person, with a background in strategy or merchandise to drive the value agenda and maintain positive price perception in the market.

To be successful, you’ll have : experience in a top-tier consultancy working with retail clients or in a relevant role in a Retail or FMCG environment experience of having worked closely with senior management in consumer-led clients/businesses ability to communicate and present in senior leadership meetings large corporate and blue chip business experience with a strong understanding of process, systems and disciplines a demonstrated end-customer focus excellent analytical skills, with experience analysing large and complex data sets experience developing strategic projects strong negotiation and influencing skills strong time management skills and the ability to work under pressure strong excel and powerpoint skills Benefits Our commitment of making good things happen at Coles starts with our people.
