Due to internal career progression, there is now an amazing opportunity for a switched on, energetic, enthusiastic, confident and capable Executive Assistant to the Managing Director to join the company. This is an intense position that needs to keep up with an energetic and ideas driven MD.
Your key duties will include being his ‘right hand person’, providing support, taking immediate action on tasks, pre-empting his next move and needs, being flexible and patient to work with constant changes in plans and directions, be able to ‘read the room’, keep your finger on the pulse and make priority assessments about what is important as everyone wants a piece of his day. Expectations of this person are high, but this is a rewarding position for the right individual. We are not just looking for an exceptional EA, we are looking for someone who will work well with this Managing Director and compliment his personality.
You will have street smarts and be able to think on your feet, you may not come from a mining industry background but you will have come from a similar fast paced environment in a similar position and be able to provide proven experience of staying afloat and in control of yourself and others. The MD has a good sense of humour and does not expect you to take things too seriously….until things get serious, you need to have the ability to banter and keep things light and the confidence to push him for details or information when deadlines are looming.
Position duties, the usual (but the role requires so much more from you than this): Phone screening Ongoing calendar management and rescheduling Internal and external meeting management Manage access to the MD Reception management Be the first liaison for internal and external visitors Develop documents, reports, papers etc. as required including board papers Manage occasional events at a company sponsored suite (invites/suite stock etc.) Other duties, more will be provided to selected candidates Requirements Attention to detail Prioritising Initiative Integrity and confidentiality Excellent communication skills Great influencing skills Keeping people at bay and assessing the actual urgency of requests Sense of humour and ability not to take things to heart or too seriously is a must Handle pressure and stress like water off a ducks back You must already be located in Perth to be considered for this opportunity, no relocation will be provided.
