SENIOR LICENSING OFFICER $85,279 - $96,759 (Plus Superannuation) Fixed Term to 6 January 2021 Usual hours of work: Full Time (flexibility may be available) Usual work location: Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available) The position of Senior Licensing Officer forms a part of the Resources branch within the Rural and Regional Victoria group. The Resources, Forestry and Game Branch develops policy, programs and regulation to enable investment and generate jobs through the sustainable development of the State's earth resources, including extractives, minerals and petroleum. The branch also plays a key coordination, policy, and regulatory role working the commercial forestry industry, and a key coordination and policy role for game hunting in Victoria.
Reporting to the Manger, Licensing, you will perform a key role by processing and administering earth resources sector licensing and approvals. The position is accountable for processing complex and routine applications for licenses, renewals, transfers, variations, and cancellations across the Minerals, Extractives, Petroleum, Geothermal and other relevant legislation. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate experience interpreting legislation in a similar environment along with highly developed interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills with internal and external stakeholders.
If you have experience and competence in the use of established procedures and participate in continuous improvement initiatives as well as demonstrated ability to apply well developed analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues associated with the administration of licences, leases, permits and work authorities.
