We are looking for three high performing Career Medical Officers with experience in policy and program development, provision of high-level medical advice, strong population health data analysis skills and stakeholder management to join the Office of the Chief Health Officer at the Ministry of Health. Where you'll be working You will be employed by the Health System Support Group (a unit of the Public Health System Support Division of the Health Administration Corporation) and working within the Office of the Chief Health Officer, located in St Leonards.

The Ministry of Health is currently undergoing a major transition introducing a more contemporary working model, ahead of a move to a new purpose-built campus at St Leonards later in 2020. The Office of the Chief Health Officer is busy and dynamic, with flexible working arrangements and support for robust professional development. What you'll be doing The primary purpose of this role is to provide high-level technical expertise and senior medical leadership in relation to the portfolio of the Chief Health Officer, including critical incidents, other issues of public health concern and priority public health projects.

The officer delivers medical and epidemiological expertise and informs complex data analysis and performs critical appraisals to support the Chief Health Officer. Candidate Assessment You will be asked to complete psychometric assessment (e.g.

Selection Criteria Qualifications in medicine (with current registration in NSW) and public health or other relevant discipline. Demonstrated high-level expertise in epidemiology or biostatistics, and the application of these methods to health policy and practice.

Substantial knowledge and experience of health data collections and the use of data to manage and monitor policy and progr.
