We are currently seeking to appoint a Financial Counsellor to work as a part of our UnitingCare Financial Resilience and Wellbeing Services team in Broadbeach on a permanent part time basis 45.6 hours per fortnight. The Role: You will provide counselling, advocacy, community education.

Financial Counselling may be delivered over the phone, including assisting clients through the National Debt Helpline. About You: You will have experience in providing Financial Counselling and support to individuals and their families who are experiencing financial anxiety and stress. We are seeking someone with fantastic communication skills who can work autonomously and remain motivated and driven to provide community education and information with a focus on empowerment and resilience to your community.

You will be proactive in engaging with other services as well as hard to engage individuals, to ensure maximum reach of our service within the community. Selection Criteria • Hold a Diploma in Financial Counselling • Experience in providing financial counselling, in particular to clients in financial crisis • Experience in providing community education, in particular focusing on building financial resilience • Demonstrated ability to maintain electronic files, specifically accurate data entry and case notes • Demonstrated knowledge of strength based interventions and approaches in financial counselling and/or addiction service delivery, with a focus on decision making and problem solving • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly the ability to liaise and communicate with clients from a diverse backgrounds • Time management with proven experience in meeting KPIs • Be eligible to be a member and maintain membership to the Financial Counselling Association of Queensland • Hold a Current Drivers Licence • Have (or be eligible for) a Suitability Card for Child Related Employment (Blue Card) • Be prepared to travel for training and professional development About Us: As one of the largest employers in the sector and the state, UnitingCare offers the opportunity to develop your skills with a values based organisation where people are at the centre of everything we do.
