The key duties of the position include The Ministerial Liaison Officer within Command Support Branch, Australian Defence Force Headquarters, plays a key role in supporting the Vice Chief of the Defence Force (VCDF) as part of the Ministerial Coordination team. The coordination team, in collaboration with stakeholders from the VCDF Executive, Military Strategic Commitments, Force Integration Division and Force Design Division, facilitates the successful workflow of items in order for the VCDF to meet his ministerial and parliamentary obligations. The position operates in a high tempo environment and requires constant management of the competing priorities in order to meet strict deadlines.

The successful candidate will have an appreciation for the political environment and be outcome focused with a high level of attention to detail. The coordination team relies heavily on teamwork and stakeholder relationship management. The role is challenging yet rewarding and offers a range of day to day tasks including Ministerial Liaison, Parliamentary Business, Freedom of Information, committee support, and Honours and Awards activities.
