Manager of Nursing
Seeking an experienced Manager/ Director of Nursing, with qualifications in a Perioperative speciality. Your new company Our client has been caring for the Townsville and North Queensland Community for more than 70 years, providing medical excellence and specialist services, backed by a commitment to patient-centred care. Your new role The Nursing Manager is responsible for creating an environment that ensures patient centred care and professional practices meet all Australian perioperative standards.
This role manages all people, financial and material resources to enable efficient end to end perioperative services for 16 operating theatres over two hospital sites. The Manager works in partnership with support services and VMOs to monitor performance, including patient outcomes, and to maximise the cost effective utilisation of the organisation's facilities. In collaboration with Nursing Services colleagues, the role provides leadership to ensure patient centred care incorporates the full patient experience from admission to discharge.
What you'll need to succeed To be successful in obtaining an interview for this position, you will possess the following qualifications, experience, technical skills and personal attributes; Registration with Australian Health Practitioner’s Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with a current licence to practice as a Registered Nurse Postgraduate qualification and/or extensive leadership experience in a perioperative specialty Perioperative services management experience in a private/ public hospital environment Demonstrated experience leading within an interdisciplinary environment and empowering staff through the application of values based and transparent management practices Demonstrated achievement in the development and implementation of clinical management policy in accordance with evidenced based theories and in line with legislation and standards (Nursing and Australian standards) Demonstrated achievement evaluating and improving clinical practice in accordance with best practice standards Demonstrated dedication to own continuous professional development and the professional development of other staff Desirable: Postgraduate Diploma or higher in Business Management or Nursing Management or equivalent.
