Senior Environment Protection Officer
There's never been a more exciting time to join EPA as we work together to prevent the harmful effects of pollution and waste on Victoria's environment and people. We are seeking Senior Environment Protection Officers (VPS4) to join the team at EPA Victoria and be a part of our regulatory frontline across Greater Metropolitan Region (North, West & South), Melbourne, Bendigo, Wangaratta Geelong and Gippsland. What will you do: Support industry and business to comply with Victoria's environment protection laws Enforce the law to prevent harm from occurring and drive environmental improvement Educate all Victorians on their environmental responsibilities.
Lead compliance and enforcement activities, conduct complex assessments and develop local compliance strategies. What you need: Degree in science, engineering or equivalent tertiary qualifications or Industry and Regulatory experience will be well regarded. To be adaptive in complex situations and agility to consider multiple perspectives High level understanding of environmental management, law and common industry practices, processes, risks and controls Demonstrated ability to assess and review compliance with standards and statutory obligations High level written and oral communication skills as evidenced by your ability to negotiate, influence and motivate internal and external stakeholders including duty holders and the community Understand industry and other duty holders' needs and expectations Ability to lead and mentor new Environmental Protection Officers How to Apply: Applicants are invited to read the attached position description and apply online via EPA Career Services.
