Use your OT experience to assist people with a variety of disabilities reach new heights and goals in their wellbeing journey. Due to an increase in demand we have a variety of clients across the Disabilities and Aged sector who are seeking the expertise of an experienced occupational therapist. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the community assisting people living with a disability to reach and exceed milestones, enhance their independence, and increase their quality of life.
Shifts are flexible dependent on your availability, location, and expectations and can range from in home care, residential or within group homes. Duties will include: Implementing pain and fatigue management strategies Helping clients with motor skill development Promote individual mobility and independence Assessing clients physical and mental functions Provide high quality OT assessments and develop strategies to reach attainable goals Identifying clients needs and / or alternative strategies to help manage self-care Complete home based client assessments and produce comprehensive reports for NDIS funding approval Determine assistive technologies and possible home modifications reflective to the clients needs Ongoing reporting and documentation of the clients changing needs, risks, goals and outcomes To be successful in this role you must have: Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build ongoing relationships with clients A strong understanding of NDIS standards Current National Police Clearance Working rights in Australia Relevant qualification and AHPRA registration Along with your skills and knowledge, you must find great joy in adding value to people’s lives and seeing them succeed. You must be highly reliable, compassionate, and committed to ongoing learning to ensure you are able to assist clients with their specific needs unique to their individual situation.
