With ambitious growth targets, EDL is looking to appoint a Health and Safety Advisor to play a key role to support the company’s commitment to safety being its number one priority. The role of the Health and Safety Advisor is responsible for the delivery of technical expertise with a high focus on continuous improvement through building collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders, particularly site-based. Required is a broad working knowledge to support the business in compliance, hazard identification, risk management, site-based inspections and incident reporting activities.
Reporting to the Group HSE & Compliance Manager key deliverables include; Delivering technical expertise ensuring alignment to statutory and company H&S requirements. Providing ongoing support to group operations through proactive leadership, knowledge and support to reduce health and safety risks, preventing injury and illness. Delivering site-based safety activities, safety inspections, safety observations as required including timely close-out of actions.
Driving the hearts and minds of a risk-based system assurance culture by supporting hazard identification and risk assessment processes. Promoting timely reporting of incidents and aiding in the identification of remedial actions. Initiating effective consultation arrangements with all stakeholders that result in a collaborative approach to identifying and managing strategic risk concerns.
Preparing and collating safety data for monthly quality reports and implement safety-related meetings monitoring action items until completion. Performing H&S compliance audits, ensuring consistent implementation and adherence to systems and related procedures across the organisation. Coaching and mentoring all internal and external stakeholders, promoting EDL’s HSE standards.
To excel in this position, you will; Have a minimum of five-ten years hands-on industry site experience in energy or high-risk industries with the demonstration of effective and well developed interpersonal and relationship building skills across a broad stakeholder audience.
