Seeking an EL1 External Budgets Candidate for a 6 month contract with extension option - Contact Mark Your new company This Federal Government Department provides a vital service within their industry, to ensure that key objectives are met, maintained and adhered to. Your new role The External Budgets Accountant should be adept at work in a challenging, fast paced environment, and will perform a range of duties to support and enable the delivery of key functions, which may include but are not limited to the following: input into strategic advice and providing technical advice and support, including to the Senior Executive, on matters relating to the Australian Government Resource Management Framework, including guidance relating to the Commonwealth Budget process, input into briefings and responses to Ministerial correspondence providing advice and support to business areas on the development of NPPs, costings and detailed costing justifications maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including liaising with portfolio entities and central agencies on Budget matters, including the resolution of issues connected with negotiating costings and updates to budget estimates coordinating and managing timely and accurate program forward estimates, including maintaining, analysing and reviewing estimates in Budget systems (CBMS-R and TM1) providing technical budget and accounting advice, including as part of analysing, reviewing and managing program estimate and costing models providing advice and assistance with cost recovery / charging reviews coordinating the preparation of Budget publications, including the production, approval and printing of the Portfolio Budget Statements and Additional Estimates Statements coordinating input to ad hoc queries and requests from the Ministers' Offices and central agencies coordinating briefing packages, as well as developing and drafting correspondence and submissions relating to the Budget process (e.g.
Portfolio Budget Submission, Budget Priorities Letter, etc.) What you'll need to succeed You will be required to have proven success working in a similar capacity using SAP. You must have or be working towards CA or CPA qualifications, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and a proactive attitude with strong interpersonal skills.
This role requires a minimum Baseline security clearance, along with a strong understanding of the guidelines and requirements in which the APS operate.
