Identifying, promoting and driving innovative research in the rail sector of ANZ Senior level engagement with governments, universities and rail industry Canberra office with the ability to work from interstate The Australasian Centre for Rail Innovation (ACRI) provides professional, independent applied research, strategic analysis, advice, and innovative solutions for the Australasian Rail Industry on significant challenges and opportunities affecting Rail today and into the future. This includes improvements in rail inter-operability, safety, productivity, efficiency and environmental performance. An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced senior executive to lead in the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Reporting to the board, the CEO will provide strategic direction to pro-actively engage with ACRI’s members, governments, stakeholders and global research organisations to ensure the research program is aligned with its members needs and expectations. The CEO will be responsible for: Developing and delivering on ACRI’s strategy, initiatives and work plans. Identifying and promoting innovative research and products that will influence the future of railways in Australia.
Building collaborative and solid working relationships with the rail community, governments, and both national and international research bodies to understand and drive industry improvements and productivity. Securing engagement and investment in research from new and established participants. Providing proactive input to the ACRI Board and ensuring responsive delivery of Board decisions.
You will currently be a Chief Executive Officer or Senior Executive with a demonstrated track record in negotiation and product delivery in the transport sector. You will possess operational leadership capability, with highly developed emotional intelligence, interpersonal and influencing skills. You will have energy and drive.
Critical to this role is the ability to liaise and cooperatively engage with very senior counterparts in State and Federal governments, the railway industry and research agencies (at all levels, Minster’s to CEO’s), to understand their needs and deliver key strategic projects and products. The position will require national travel. ACRI is based in Canberra but arrangements for the CEO to work from elsewhere may be negotiable.
