Research Nurse, Intensive Care Unit (ICU)



Rare role for a Research Nurse to join RMH ICU and be involved in diverse research studies Part Time, Fixed Term position - working 60 hours per fortnight for 12 months Join a dynamic and motivated research team The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community based facilities. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated individual to join our Intensive Care Unit team as a Research Nurse.

This is a Part Time, Fixed Term position, working 60 hours per fortnight, based at The Royal Melbourne Hospital - City Campus. Your Opportunity: Work with a dynamic, motivated team in the Intensive Care research department in collaboration with other research staff. Be involved with the recruitment and collection of data for a number of single-centre and multi-centre clinical trials Be responsible for the delivery of direct and indirect clinical trial related care of patients and associated research activities to ensure a high quality service that meets the needs of patients and clients.

Current Research studies at the Royal Melbourne Hospital ICU include: Lucid, Remap Cap, Plus, TAME, BLING 111, Kangaroo, Thiamine, Sleep disorders in ICU, Glycine, Pangea, Intent Part Time (60 hours per fortnight), Fixed Term 12 month Parental Leave backfill About You: Dynamic enthusiastic person with good communication skills with a desire to join a progressive and evolving ICU research team Minimum of two years critical care experience Well-developed computer skills and data management Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team Desirable - Previous experience with ICU Research programs and activities, Good Clinical Practice (GCP) training and an interest in academic clinical achievement Benefits: A rewarding career offering great prospects for career diversity and professional advancement including mentorship and leadership programs.
