Our iron ore mining operations in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges, south of Whyalla, consist of three primary mine sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. com About the role As a Project Engineer- Electrical, you will be a part of the Sustaining Capital and Projects team to provide electrical and control engineering support for allocated projects within SIMEC Mining Whyalla. These are crucial projects designed to support our growth plans in Whyalla. The key responsibilities for this position: Development of electrical and control systems design scopes and managing external engineering consultants and contractors, and review of design deliverables Project manage small to medium projects Coordinate and facilitate the Technical Risk Analysis and Safety in Design process for allocated projects Technical specification and support in relation to Electrical HV & LV power systems and PLC/SCADA control systems from pre-feasibility to post project implementation stage Develop standards and processes to promote consistency, ease of operations, effective maintenance, appropriate training, minimize spares and more efficient project rollout in relation to Electrical power & Control Systems implementations About your experience To be successfully considered for this role, you will demonstrate the following experience: An Engineering degree in the Electrical field Demonstrated experience within an engineering design and / or construction environment delivering materials handling, ore processing and/or mining projects Experienced in use of Australian Electrical Standards for engineering design and review Knowledge of HV/LV distribution system design, Electrical Substation and sub circuit distribution system design and engineering Knowledge in Rockwell and Allen Bradley PCS Hardware and software, and VSD and Soft starters Demonstrate a strong safety awareness and culture and be environmentally conscious Experience in Contract/Proj.
