Corrective Services NSW employs trade Overseers, Senior Overseers and Managers in Corrective Services Industries (CSI) providing inmates in correctional centres with vocational training in service and commercial industries to improve their employment opportunities when they are released from custody. Employment is a proven factor in reducing the risk of re-offending.
About the role: As Business Manager Operations you will review and develop commercial viability of CSI Business Units. Provide business development and strategic advice for business improvement for alternative business strategies for optimising CSI industry/inmate employment. Essential Requirements: Proven high level managerial experience Relevant management qualifications Current NSW driver's license and preparedness to drive a vehicle in the course of performing the role A requirement to undertake Certificate III - Correctional Practice as part of the role The successful candidate must demonstrate ability to: Govern from a central / industry sector perspective, CSI business units ensuring that the outcomes are aligned with or exceed the business plans and that the manufacturing and services functions are carried out optimally and within the assigned budget and resources.
Review the commercial viability of CSI business units, provide trouble shooting, higher level management expertise and strategic advice to centre level industries managers for business improvements or for alternate business strategies for optimising CSI industry / inmate employment. Provide mentorship, succinct technical and business development advice to the industries managers to ensure tangible improvements in productivity, change management, efficiencies and inmate employability. Review CSI management systems including materials management, quality management, business management, environmental management, security and offender management systems to ensure compliance with legislation and policy and CSI best practice.
Monitor production systems to ensure that quality standards and key performance indicators are met, output is achieved in accordance with the CSI plans and strategies. Develop, implement and manage a range of related projects relating to business developmen....
