The Townsville Palliative Care Service provides care to people living with a life-limiting illness across North Queensland. The purpose-built facility, located on Townsville University Hospital campus, is a level 5/6 specialist service. The facility comprises inpatient beds, offices for outreach services, and research and educational facilities.

The service provides holistic care with dedicated medical, nursing, social work and allied health staff. Services include: Inpatient care for management of complex symptoms and provision of end-of-life care Outpatient clinics Consultation services to Townsville University Hospital and primary care providers in the region Counselling and support for patients, relatives and staff dealing with the complex issues that arise at the end of life Educational programs for health workers from across North Queensland and students from James Cook University Generous remuneration package value up to $63,802 p.a.

comprising salary range of $52,532 to $55,754 p.a. (Nurse Grade 3), 17.

5% leave loading, 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation. Other employment benefits may include: professional development, salary sacrificing options, shift and locality allowances, corporate discounts, wellness programs and the EAP.

We are seeking candidates with the following: Diploma of Nursing or equivalent and current AHPRA registration. Highly Desirable: Palliative Care Nursing experience, a post graduate qualification or working towards one. Shift Workers: Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster.
