General Practitioner - Gympie



A general practice in Gympie is looking for a non-procedural or procedural General Practitioner. A generous remuneration package is on offer plus special remuneration for after hours service. Hours are 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday.

No weekends. After hours divided between 3 doctors. Gympie is about two and a half hours (160 kms) drive north of Brisbane and one and a half hours drive south of Hervey Bay.

The Gympie region has a population of about 48,000 people. Gympie has a very good hospital with visiting specialists, allied health, community health and several other services, dental clinic and mental health clinic. There is private hospital with two theatres and several visiting specialists.

Gympie also has a two local pathology services, two radiology and nuclear medicine services. There are many private and public schools in Gympie and surrounding areas and five child care centres. We currently have two full time GPs, one part time GP, two registered nurses, a practice manager and seven receptionists.

Bulk of patients are middle aged adults with chronic disease. We have a Dietician, Diabetic Educator who attends once a month. Respiratory educator available in the public hospital and accepts referrals from the community.
