12 months with view to extend, subject to client requirements High profile Federal Government Roles Melbourne or Sydney location This High Profile Federal Government organisation is seeking to obtain the expertise of senior level tax professionals to support the Private Wealth Market under the Tax Avoidance Taskforce. Our client offers many benefits such as a renowned work-life balance, incredible super, leave, and numerous other benefits that you would not get elsewhere About the role: A senior tax professional will provide expert technical guidance, build capability and provide commercial acumen, insights and resolution of significant international tax issues particularly in relation to: Financing-related risks (including, but not limited to, related party financing), Transfer pricing (including but not limited to IP transfers), Structuring and profit shifting, and the application of the CFC (controlled foreign company) rules, including but not limited to control tests and attribution issues.
Your responsibilities: • Providing technical and commercial support to assist in the development and strategic management of key international risks in the Private Wealth market, • Resolve complex transfer pricing matters, • Assisting in the identification and resolution of other international related risks (particularly relating to profit-shifting and structuring - which may include hybrids), • Assisting in the identification and resolution of financing risks, including risks associated with private equity firms, financiers, state governments, large contractors, and other entities entering into various arrangements, including, but not limited to, the sale and lease-back of land, • Building capability through such activities including but not limited to, technical leadership, training programs, identifying risk attributes and building typologies. Desirable qualities and skills: Number of years of experience in the tax profession, and is a senior manager or above in a big 4 or second tier accounting firm - or equivalent will be highly regarded Has demonstrated and detailed knowledge in relation to the International Tax Issues, the Australian tax system and interactions with tax systems in other jurisdictions Has a strong practical and commercial knowledge of the Private Wealth market, private businesses and their structures; including cross bode structures Has highly developed and demonstrated leadership capability, including the ability to build and nurture capability in others Is an Australian Citizen. has a five year consecutive Australian address history (checkable background) has the ability to obtain a Security Clearance Renowned work-life balance.
