Senior Investigator Electrical Safety Clerk Grade 7/8 ($97,152 - $107,541) Parramatta About the Role An ongoing position is available within our Building Investigations team in the Better Regulation Division. You will conduct compliance activities under NSW legislation administered by the organisation, including conducting major and/or complex investigations and undertaking targeted operations to ensure and enhance compliance with relevant legislation. Key Accountabilities include: •Conduct compliance activities under NSW legislation administered by the Energy and Utilities Unit, primarily surround the Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2004, Gas (Consumer Safety) Reg 2012 and Australian Consumer Law.

•Investigating and conducting major and/or complex investigations and undertaking targeted operations to ensure and enhance compliance with relevant legislation. •Present evidence before court and prepare reports, submissions and correspondence to make recommendations for appropriate enforcement action on compliance activities. Furthermore the applicant will be required to: •Provide support to the branch, industry and consumers relating to electrical and gas articles.

•Plan, implement and oversee annual shop and marketplace inspections relating to core business requirements •Conduct audits of authorised Electrical and Gas certification bodies. •Issue PINS against detected breaches Essential Criteria: •Certificate IV in Government (Investigations) or preparedness to undertake an identical or similar employee-sponsored program. •Demonstrated knowledge of formal conduct of investigations, evidence gathering and review process.

•Current NSW driver's licence and ability and willingness to travel throughout the state when required. •Relevant tertiary qualification and/or equivalent experience within an intelligence environment. •Satisfactory Criminal History Record Check.
