Clinical Talent Pool - Registered Nurses (Palliative Care)
As a registered nurse you will deliver specialist Palliative Care Services to meet the needs of patients with complex or resource intensive needs. This will involve providing support, leadership education and expert advice to patients, their families and members of the team to ensure provision of best practice and quality patient care. The Palliative Care Service provides the following services: Inpatient care for management of complex symptoms and provision of end-of-life care Outpatient clinics (ground floor, oncology clinics) Outreach medical, social work and allied health services and contracted domiciliary nursing services to patients in the community Counselling and support for patients, relatives and staff dealing with the complex issues that arise at the end of life Educational programs for health workers from across North Queensland and students from James Cook University Requirements: Bachelor of Nursing (or equivalent) current AHPRA registration.
Appointees will be required to work all shifts in accordance with the unit roster, including weekends, public holidays and shift work. Highly Desirable: Recent experience working within a Palliative Care Service or with Palliative Care patients.
