About the Scholarship An exciting PhD Scholarship opportunity to be a part of the Electrical Renewable Energy project. The position is predominately located at the Hawthorn Campus; however, you will spend time outside of Campus working with industry and community partners. You will undertake research to provide an innovative transactive energy management system (EMS) for regional community virtual power plant (CVPP) with distributed renewable energy sources(DRES), peer-to-peer (P2P) and energy sharing capabilities.

You will be a part of designing a robust, dynamic and adaptable mathematical model of a DER based CVPP to provide a test bench for evaluating the different EMS strategies for different regional microgrids. The successful applicant will be expected to contribute to the field of Electrical Power and Energy systems, work collaboratively with others, develop and support research plans and deliver research outputs. About you To be successful in the role, you will have: • A Bachelor’s degree (Honours) and/or a research master’s degree in a discipline relevant to the research topic • Experience in research and development of Electrical renewable energy systems • Research Experience, including publication of research findings • Proven experience in Poser Systems and Control, Renewable energy systems, Storage systems and Power Electronics A full list of selection criteria is available within the position description.
