Policy & Strategy We are a strategic policy hub responsible for delivering law reform and strategic policy across the broad range of legislative areas covered by SafeWork NSW, NSW Fair Trading, Liquor and Gaming NSW, and the Office of Responsible Gambling. The Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA) Secretariat for Liquor & Gaming NSW Liquor & Gaming NSW (L&GNSW) is responsible for the overall regulatory framework across liquor, registered clubs and gambling activities in NSW.

L&GNSW provides policy direction and advice (including advising the Government on legislative change) in relation to all regulated activities; conduct of licensing, compliance and enforcement functions; and early intervention and awareness activities. L&GNSW also provides secretariat support for the Independent Liquor & Gaming Authority (ILGA) and facilitates ILGA reviews of decisions it delegates to L&GNSW. The Project Officer role The primary responsibility of the Project Officer role in the ILGA Secretariat team is to support ILGA's performance of its statutory powers and functions through the preparation of communications and documentation.

The main duties of this role include preparation of reasons for ILGA's decisions under relevant liquor and gaming legislation, case management of disciplinary complaints made against licensed venues and related individuals, and the provision of other administrative and secretariat support to ILGA as required. The role also works closely with the Executive Officers and Manager of the ILGA Secretariat team to facilitate regular liaison between ILGA and L&GNSW executive and other external stakeholders.
