Interesting work. Senior role requiring a review of the current SQL DBA environment Our client, a highly desirable federal government agency here in Canberra, is seeking a SQL Database Architect/Engineer to play a lead role designing and tuning a large cluster on a high profile project that will impact all Australians. This is a long term contract with an initial term through until Dec 2020 with an extension on top of that.

To succeed in this role, you will have the following skills and experience: Minimum of five years' experience working with Microsoft SQL infrastructure supporting SQL Server 2008R2/2012/2016 environments Strong experience designing and building SQL Server Clusters Strong experience in Transact SQL, SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, SQL Broker services, Filestream Strong Experience in tuning SQL Server databases and instances to enable high transactions databases to scale Strong experience working with development teams to debug and ensure stored procedures and queries are optimized using Query Execution plan, SQL Trace other tools Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Availability Groups implementations Proven critical thinking and strong problem solving skills Experience supporting Microsoft Clustering Services implementations Experience in developing design documentation and other technical artefacts Stakeholder presentations and management In addition to the above, the following will be highly regarded: Experience with capacity management and business process improvement in a database context Experience with Networking in areas such as DNS and DHCP This role requires Aus.
